SG Designs is a small consulting/design firm and the inspiration of Scotty Guinn Dilworth. After many years on the west coast in California, I have returned to my hometown of Richmond, VA to share the green landscaping trends which took hold in Los Angeles many years ago! I like to collaborate with other design/ build teams to create "sustainable garden designs — SG Designs." Working with like-minded professionals and clients, fresh ideas are brought to life!

The focus is on eco-sensitive designs in the landscape and interior plantscapes for the residential and commercial marketplace. Clients communicate what they are looking for and I offer low maintenance, drought tolerant, and other natural options for them to explore. Together we educate and empower you to make your choice to do the right thing for the environment and our local watersheds.

I work on Greenroofs, Living Walls, Raingardens, and Native Landscape Plans. Native plants restore the biodiversity of an area by bringing in butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and beneficial insects—it's more than just adding new plants to your garden, but allowing a thriving community of living creatures help you nurture your plants and restore the natural balance of the landscape and ultimately, planet Earth.

Using both common sense and the latest technologies available, SG Designs will evaluate ways to bring biodiversity back to your home environment and cut down on your maintenace in the landscape. We can also offer referrals for other green applications like solar panels, solar and geothermal heating/cooling systems, rainwater capture and harvesting, low water drip irrigation, permeable paving, and other stormwater run-off solutions such as raingardens.
